My Story

Growing up with depression and anxiety, I was encouraged to bottle up my feelings and often felt judged, different, and dismissed. I became a clinical social worker because I want to support others who experience inner turmoil and need support to help them process feelings of despair, depression, anxiety, overwhelm, exhaustion from traumatic experiences. Because of my own experience of school bullying, growing up gay in a fundamentalist church, and subsequent alcohol abuse problems, I decided to get the education and specialized trainings to help others who are also going through similar struggles. I know firsthand that the work isn’t easy, so I will be right there with you as we work to address the negative experiences that still hold you back from living a full, enriching life.
